Another month has gone by and needless to say, my June was uneventful. I didn’t have time to write posts and reviews because of my exams. BUT NOW IT’S SUMMER AND I’M BACK (Hopefully).
*Full reviews are linked in the title*
Red Queen (Red Queen #1) by Victoria Aveyard
4/5 stars: After picking it up two years ago when it first came out and promptly abandoning it, I finally managed to finish this very hyped, very popular book. And my final verdict is that it’s very very good. With a slow beginning, Red Queen made up for it with it’s amazing plot twists, characters, and insane storyline. Legit. It’s a well-written novel, and you should check it out!!
Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway
4/5 stars: An unforgettable coming of age novel about independence, second chances and courage. This novel is perfect for a quick read and if you want a sweet romance on the side. Emmy & Oliver is a novel about the consequences of “kidnapping” and how that affects families and the victim. Super eye-opening.
Deceptions (Cainsville #3) by Kelley Armstrong
4/5 stars: An ongoing adult paranormal mystery thriller series that I’m reading. Deceptions brought me on a journey of insane plot twists and I love the beautiful mash of mystery and paranormal aspects in the novel. If you’ve read Kelley Armstrong before, this adult series is definitely the one to pick up. I’m now anxiously waiting for the fourth novel because THAT ENDING IS NOT OKAY.
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
4/5 stars: A reread of mine that continues to impress and interest me no matter how many times I read it. A wonderful romance underlined in the novel and the main character, Vi, is thrown in the midst of a serial killer hunting girls in her town. A creative twist on the typical girl detective as Vi can sense the echos of those killed and their killers. I recommend for everyone of all ages.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
3/5 stars: A disappointing read on my part. Although I have read the Shadow & Bone trilogy, I don’t think this is as good as those. I’m definitely part of the minority when it comes to this novel. I didn’t enjoy the ending or the beginning, however the middle was really good. I enjoyed the chunk in middle. THE SHIPS WERE SAILING IN SIX OF CROWS AND IT WAS FABULOUS! I did like being back in the Grisha world but with everything else (that I go more into more detail in my review), I couldn’t rate this more than 3 stars.
Surrender (Possession #2) by Elana Johnson
4/5 stars: A great sequel to Possession, with new characters, old characters, and great story building. Slow to start but picked up very quickly and ended with a HUGE cliffhanger that I didn’t appreciate. Book 3 here I come!
Most of June were 4 star books, which is sucky but you’re in for some stellar reviews in July. Psst. There’s also some releases that I’m dying to read!! It’s also been a month of reposting but I’m almost done transferring my reviews from my old blog, so we’ll be having more updated reviews soon!
So…didn’t do any prompts this month. I had to study okay?! But I did sneak in some blog awards and whatnots.
One Lovely Blog Award
The Sunshine Blogger Award
Funny story. My currently reading list is growing just as fast as my TBR one..
- I DESIGNED A NEW HEADER IMAGE THIS MONTH!! (In the middle of my exams too, which is super smart of me) I’m loving it though and super proud.
- I wrote a little rant about “Failures, Assholes and Damage Control“. That’s pretty much a life update all on its own.
- If you guys haven’t noticed, I also redesigned my blog…again. But I think this one’s a keeper. It’s cleaner and it suits my header and my personality so much better. BUT that means reformatting my posts which is a pain in the ass. The new theme isn’t as featured image friendly as the others and I get to start using those “Read more” tags again! I don’t know, should I do that or should I just post everything the way it is and have the full posts available to read on the front page? Let me know in the comments below!
How was your sunny June? You digging my new header? What are you currently reading?! Who’s ready for July?? I’M NOT!! (But I am at the same time) Let me knooow!
Hopefully you can read tons this summer. My opinions were fairly close to yours on some of the books we’ve read.I’m interested in checking out The Body Finder now!

I hope so too! I have too many books to read and I’m just excited to get into it! Ohmygosh!! You need to check out The Body Finder! There’s a touch of creepy and thriller which is awesome! (There are little sections of the serial killer’s POV) Hopefully our July will have more stellar ratings than this month! 🙂

Thank you! It’s definitely something I don’t mind staring at all day. (You should have seen the process behind creating that! I’m a crazy person! :P) I love writing these wraps up just to see how my month was. I’m glad you enjoyed it and I hope so too!! 🙂

I finished Red Queen recently, too, after contemplating reading it for months. I’m so glad I did – I loved it, and I’m glad you did, too! I’ll be reading its sequel soon, and I’m so excited to see what happens next 🙂
