Holy smokilies! (I don’t even know…) We got a whole month of releases ahead of us. I have a confession. I’m literally only interested in 3 releases this month, and that means I’m 2 below my usual Most Anticipated post… So what do I do in this crisis???
Read on to find out!! 😂

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2)
By Leigh Bardugo
RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 27TH
Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn’t think they’d survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they’re right back to fighting for their lives. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties. A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets―a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of magic in the Grisha world.
Am I like dying for this book?? Ehhh. Six of Crows didn’t impress me as much as everyone was. But alas, I’ll give this author a chance because I know the epicness she is capable of. And my curiosity after that ending will probably eat me away.
Check out my review on Book 1 here.

Bright Smoke, Cold Fire
By Rosamund Hodge
RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 27TH
When the mysterious fog of the Ruining crept over the world, the living died and the dead rose. Only the walled city of Viyara was left untouched.
The heirs of the city’s most powerful—and warring—families, Mahyanai Romeo and Juliet Catresou share a love deeper than duty, honor, even life itself. But the magic laid on Juliet at birth compels her to punish the enemies of her clan—and Romeo has just killed her cousin Tybalt. Which means he must die.
Paris Catresou has always wanted to serve his family by guarding Juliet. But when his ward tries to escape her fate, magic goes terribly wrong—killing her and leaving Paris bound to Romeo. If he wants to discover the truth of what happened, Paris must delve deep into the city, ally with his worst enemy . . . and perhaps turn against his own clan.
Mahyanai Runajo just wants to protect her city—but she’s the only one who believes it’s in peril. In her desperate hunt for information, she accidentally pulls Juliet from the mouth of death—and finds herself bound to the bitter, angry girl. Runajo quickly discovers Juliet might be the one person who can help her recover the secret to saving Viyara.
Both pairs will find friendship where they least expect it. Both will find that Viyara holds more secrets and dangers than anyone ever expected. And outside the walls, death is waiting. . .
When I heard that Rosamund Hodge was releasing a new book this year I was ECSTATIC. And to discover that it’ll be a fantasy retelling of the glorious Romeo & Juliet?!? I was 100% in. I love Romeo & Juliet inspired novels!! (Most of them anyway. I’m picky.) AND THAT COVER IS FREAKING GORGEOUS!!!! I’m in love with that cover. Rosamund Hodge, you got an ocean of expectations ahead of you. I’m expecting brilliant things from you with this one. I really hope you don’t disappoint, or I’m going to be so upset.

Aelin’s journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?
I mean of course my top Anticipated Release this month would be Empire of Storms!! I’ve been waiting this for a year now. I’m so ready to get back into the world of Aelin and her sword. So. Freaking. Excited. I have sooo many questions that must be answered and book nerds, it’s 704 pages. AHHHH!!! 😱😱 It better be 704 pages of awesomeness. If not, I’m going to be real crushed. Let’s see what SJM got planned for Aelin and her crew.
NOTE: THANK GOD I DON’T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH. THOUGHT SEPTEMBER 27TH WAS A LUCKY NUMBER OR SOMETHING.
So, I got nothing to make up for the lack of five releases… Was that click bait?? Mmm..maybe. 😂 I’m truly sorry, but you know, these releases are big enough that we’ll can count them as 5 books. Agreed? Agreed.
What books should have made this meager list of releases?? Any recommendations?? Are you excited for the releases I mentioned?!? Any TOG fans out there??? Rosamund Hodge lovers? Grisha World fans? Let me know in the comments what other books you’re anticipating!!

Yeah, I like reading series after they’re completed or near completed so I don’t have to wait too long (because the wait for King’s Cage and ACOTAR #3 right now is excruciating!). Thank you 🙂
