My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

Hello fellow bookworms! I’m back from the dead to bring you a dream of mine that has been on my mind for a while. Being Canadian, I don’t have access to many bookish conferences like the famous BookCon. (That is on my bucket list. You have no idea how much I want to go to one). If I were organize my dream conference, I would definitely use Eventbrite. Eventbrite is the world’s largest self-service ticketing platform. They help organizers host amazing events and conferences, and connect ordinary people to find a momentum life experience near them.

So to satisfy my unfortunate geographical luck, I’ll be showing you a little glimpse of my hopes and dreams. (and maybe hopefully get a Canadian BookCon started??? Like please for Canadians everywhere. We are nice people. I, We want a book conference. 😘)

Reality has set in that this is the last month of books that are ever going to be released in 2016!! 😱😱 Wow.

There are not many books that I got my eye out for, HOWEVER, like the saying goes, it’s quality over quantity.

Man, has time gone by or what?! I didn’t even realize it was the start of a new month until the first day of it!! So, yes I’m late on my Wrap Up.

Again, been taking some time off, but I’m always thinking about you and this blog. Hopefully when I have more time, I can make it up to you by writing about the fun ideas I’ve brainstormed while not paying attention in my classes. My stress is at a tolerable level, I just have to make sure I understand the content so I’m not cramming before the test.

I’m starting to think of my Wrap Ups as newsletters but alas, I cannot change the name now. 😂 I will slowly condition you. 😏

Review Rampage | Contemporary Madness, Dragons(!!), and Disappointing Time Travelling Trope

 

Okay, I’m going to be honest here: I’ve been in a blogging slump for a while. It’s not the reading, and it’s not designing the graphics because God knows I spend way too many hours perfecting them. It’s just the dang reviewing that has me in a knot. I just can’t get in that mindset of critiquing and analyzing. I think I do that in my English class more than enough times that I’ve resulted to just wanting to enjoy the books I read for fun instead of peeling the text layer by layer. It’s not like when I review I don’t enjoy the book, I do!! And, it’s not like I don’t bring in themes, metaphors, and character development into my reviews every once in a while (I think I actually talk about character development a lot.) But school and blogging are blending together and it’s getting me more stressed than usual. BLOGGING IS MY RELEASE!! So, until things relax a bit in my English class, know that I’m forcing myself to sit down and review a book to post here, or I’ve gotten to the point where the stress is just too much and reviewing is the only way OUT of this ball of stress that I’ve become.

#BeforeTheFlood

Today is my birthday, but that’s not important. It’s relevant because when people who love and care about you wish you a happy birthday, something so small, and so simple, you tend to just appreciate life a little more. For me, today being it my birthday reminded me of the life I have, and caused me to wonder about my future, and the future of mankind. This lead me to watch this eye-opening documentary.

This is a call to everyone who reads this, watch the documentary, Before the Flood and join Leonardo DiCaprio as he explores, unearths, and addresses climate change all over the world, and how we, as human beings, have destroyed our home planet, and how we can hopefully being it back to life.

You can watch it for free on YouTube, but I’ve heard rumours it will be removed after today, whether the link I provided you above is no longer available after today; buy it, rent it, it will still be available for you to watch it.

It would be a damn shame that you don’t watch this empowering and enlightening documentary about the future of our world.

What’s so interesting about this documentary is that Leonardo DiCaprio was just as unaware of what is going on as almost every single one of us in the world. He had the means to explore and to connect with people who can tell us what is actually going on so he and us, can know more about the fate of our environment.

This is a gift. He used his resources to give us the answers, and the ability to make a difference for our future children, to our loved ones, and to our home. Take it. Appreciate it. And change from it.

I ask you to watch and to share. To be educated and to hope for change.

 

November 2016: Most Anticipated Releases

Alas, this is one day late…HOW DARE I?! 😂 My birthday is in a few days and I’m so ready to have a book-buying spree. SO. READY. It really doesn’t take much for me to be happy. 😜 My birthday celebrations are pretty low-key; just a small meal with the family and CAKE! (Can’t have a birthday without cake!! 🙌👌❤️)

This month’s releases isn’t too bad when it comes releases but it could always be better. My TBR had no trouble increasing though, so there’s that. Why can’t books release all at the same time?? Actually, that is a horrible idea. I would be bankrupt in minutes, and I would literally be drowning in books because I need time to process and mourn before starting another book.

Anywho, these are my Most Anticipated for November!

Happy Halloween!!!

This October has been super eventful…in real life. My blogging life? Eh, not so much. I tried my best but sometimes life just got in the way. 😦 October didn’t bring a lot of reviews but I have a massive post coming to you soon to make up for the reviews. I finally found a name for quick reviews, and it has an alliteration in it!! *squee* BEST. THING. EVER. It just came to me one day, and it was perfect!! Can’t wait to release this!! (Hopefully soon, like November soon)

Ah, the inevitable consequence of reading too many awesome novels. When authors just decide to take your feelings and put ’em in a blender and just pulverized them. It’s a wonderful but exhausting feeling. You get me?

You know, i think book hangovers are a valid excuse for missing work, school or any horrible life-sucking outing you have to go to. It’s practically the equivalent to the flu!!! IT’S JUST WORST AND LESS GROSS. (That’s a win right there) If I were to tell someone who doesn’t understand book hangovers, I would get the weirdest look ever. I say book hangovers should be universal knowledge and eligible for work/school absences. Just saying.

Anyway, I decided to outline and identify some distinct phases or moments of a typical book hangover we book addicts encounter.
