February 2017: Most Anticipated Releases

most-anticipated-releases-feb2017

Am I surprised that the majority of these anticipated releases are romance novels? No.. I mean I have an excuse because this is the month of Valentine’s Day after all but I do have one sci-fi and one fantasy for you though. 😉 I’ve been in a reading slump lately so I have no idea when I will read these. Although, #1 might get me out of it.

Keep reading for my top February book release!!

30258320Gilded Cage
By Vic James

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 14TH

Not all are free. Not all are equal. Not all will be saved.

Our world belongs to the Equals — aristocrats with magical gifts — and all commoners must serve them for ten years. But behind the gates of England’s grandest estate lies a power that could break the world.

A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.

Abi is a servant to England’s most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of the noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family’s secrets might win her liberty, but will her heart pay the price?

A boy dreams of revolution.

Abi’s brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.

And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.

He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate—or destroy?

Am I like super super excited for this release? Not really… But this makes my list (I mean I raised it by one so I must have a reason right?) because I see the potential of this story. This novel will either go well or go bad; there’s no inbetween. But the cover is super pretty so it better be as good inside as the outside.

tilldeath-pm-cTill Death
By Jennifer L. Armentrout

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 28TH

In New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s gripping new novel, a young woman comes home to reclaim her life—even as a murderer plots to end it. . .

It’s been ten years since Sasha Keaton left her West Virginia hometown . . . since she escaped the twisted serial killer known as the Groom. Returning to help run her family inn means being whole again, except for one missing piece. The piece that falls into place when Sasha’s threatened—and FBI agent Cole Landis vows to protect her the way he couldn’t a decade ago.

First one woman disappears; then another, and all the while, disturbing calling cards are left for the sole survivor of the Groom’s reign of terror. Cole’s never forgiven himself for not being there when Sasha was taken, but he intends to make up for it now . . . because under the quirky sexiness Cole first fell for is a steely strength that only makes him love Sasha more.

But someone is watching. Waiting. And Sasha’s first mistake could be her last.

It’s weird for JLA to write an Adult novel under her YA pen name, but I’m so very happy she’s releasing a novel I actually want to read! After the release of The Problem with Forever, I’ve been patiently waiting for another of hers to be released! I have some high expectations for this one, especially since I’ve read that FBI love story before, so I’m expecting creativity and romance. Check out my reveal post on the book trailer here!

30269126Empress of a Thousand Skies
By Rhonda Belleza

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 7TH

Empress
Rhee, also known as Crown Princess Rhiannon Ta’an, is the sole surviving heir to a powerful dynasty. She’ll stop at nothing to avenge her family and claim her throne.

Fugitive
Aly has risen above his war refugee origins to find fame as the dashing star of a DroneVision show. But when he’s falsely accused of killing Rhee, he’s forced to prove his innocence to save his reputation – and his life.

Madman
With planets on the brink of war, Rhee and Aly are thrown together to confront a ruthless evil that threatens the fate of the entire galaxy.

A saga of vengeance, warfare, and the true meaning of legacy.

When you realize you actually love sci-fi novels. I’m very picky though and this sounds so GOOD. I can’t wait to read this one. I’m hoping Rhee is the badass heir that brings sass and sarcasm to the novel where Aly is the brooding, hateful character that angers Rhee to no end but they fall in love and then together, they fight for their world back. You know, just a (hopeful) prediction. 😜 ALSO THE COVER IS GORGEOUS!! 😍😍

32502775Mischief and Magnolias (Magnolia Branch #2)
By Kristi Cook

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 7TH

When Ryder Marsden and Jemma Cafferty return to Magnolia Branch for Christmas break following their first semester at their respective universities in New York City (Columbia and NYU), their secret relationship is revealed—they’re literally caught under the mistletoe, kissing. Unexpectedly, their parents—who’ve spent their entire lives pushing them together—are somehow less than thrilled, especially when they realize the depth of their deception.

Tensions mount as the Marsden and Cafferty families struggle to come to terms with Jemma’s and Ryder’s feelings for each other, especially as they prepare to send them back to New York City together. At the same time, Jemma and Ryder must face their own problems that have arisen as a result of attending different schools—there are jealousies to be sorted out and hurt feelings to mend if their relationship is going to stand the test of time.

Will their love last, or are they star-crossed lovers, after all?

I DIDN’T KNOW THERE WOULD BE A SEQUEL AND WHEN I SAW THIS I INTERNALLY FREAKED OUT. Magnolia, the first book, was such a nice surprise and I really enjoyed myself and ohmygod, there’s a sequel and I NEED THIS NOOOW. 😱 😱 This couple is the cutest thing ever and has Romeo and Juliet vibes which I LOVE. I’m definitely going to have to reread Magnolia, because I need to feel the feels for this couple because I clearly remember angst and I NEED MA ANGST. 😱 💕

34036055Love Story (Love Unexpectedly #3)
By Lauren Layne

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 14TH

When Lucy Hawkins receives a job offer in San Francisco, she can’t wait to spread her wings and leave her small Virginia hometown behind. Her close-knit family supports her as best they can, by handing over the keys to a station wagon that’s seen better days. The catch? The cross-country trip comes with a traveling companion: her older brother’s best friend, aka the guy who took Lucy’s virginity hours before breaking her heart.

After spending the past four years and every last dime caring for his sick father, Reece Sullivan will do just about anything to break free of the painful memories – even if it means a two-week road trip with the one girl who’s ever made it past his carefully guarded exterior. But after long days of bickering in the car turn into steamy nights in secluded motel rooms, Reece learns that, when it comes to Lucy, their story is far from over. And this time, they just might have a shot at a happy ending.

Have I mention how much I love Lauren Layne?? LL has been torturing me with snippets of this novel and we are one more day closer to release date!! This novel is the ONLY reason why I’ll ever be excited for Valentine’s Day. 😆 I’m sure this story will blow me away like every other novel by LL, and she writes the classic brother’s best friend romance and ROAD TRIP TROPE ALL IN ONE YUMMY NOVEL!!! Two of my favourite tropes written by LL. *smirks* Winner right here. 👊🏻😜

30226723King’s Cage (Red Queen #3)
By Victoria Aveyard

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 7TH

In this breathless third installment to Victoria Aveyard’s bestselling Red Queen series, allegiances are tested on every side. And when the Lightning Girl’s spark is gone, who will light the way for the rebellion?

Mare Barrow is a prisoner, powerless without her lightning, tormented by her lethal mistakes. She lives at the mercy of a boy she once loved, a boy made of lies and betrayal. Now a king, Maven Calore continues weaving his dead mother’s web in an attempt to maintain control over his country—and his prisoner.

As Mare bears the weight of Silent Stone in the palace, her once-ragtag band of newbloods and Reds continue organizing, training, and expanding. They prepare for war, no longer able to linger in the shadows. And Cal, the exiled prince with his own claim on Mare’s heart, will stop at nothing to bring her back.

When blood turns on blood, and ability on ability, there may be no one left to put out the fire—leaving Norta as Mare knows it to burn all the way down.

OF COURSE. OF COURSE THIS IS MY #1 ANTICIPATED!! I MEAN WHY WOULDN’T IT BE?!? After the release of the CREEPY AND DARK King’s Cage trailer, I’ve been all twitchy and impatient for this release. AHHH! I need to know what happens to Mare and I saw somewhere that we’re getting another POV and I’m betting it’s going to be either Maven or Cal. Maybe both?? 😲 I don’t know, but I need to read this!!! IT’S GONNA BE SOOOO GOOOD!! The expectations are so high, it broke my scale of expectations. (Like I totally have a scale but you know what I mean 😉) I need answers, and this book is going to give us some!! *flails*

  1. I’m really excited for King’s Cage as well! I won’t be getting around to it in February but as soon as I’m able to I will be devouring it. I hope you end up enjoying Gilded Cage if you do get around to it this month because I loved that book a lot. It was so good. 😁

    • I probably won’t get to it for a while as well. Too much going on with school😭 I hope so too!! Gilded sounds like my kind of book! I’ll have to check out your review on the book!! (I’ll try to make time to blog surf😉)

  2. Awesome list. I don’t know about He King’s Cage though. I read Red Queen back when it was release and I was disappointed. I haven’t picked up Glass Sword but I’ve heard people either hate it or love it. After the first book I’m not sure I want to see when I fall.

    • Yea I was not a fan of Red Queen in the beginning. I almost DNF’d it twice. I didn’t become convinced until Glass Sword which was SO MUCH BETTER. All my friends love the books, and it was them that influenced me to pick up book 2, which I’m glad I did. But if you don’t like it, you don’t like it. It’s exhausting trying to force yourself to read a book you hate. Got lots of experience with that. 😜 what is on your TBR this month?

      • I might try it then if a friend owns it. It’s not high on my TBR though so, knowing me, I won’t get to it. Not much, Speak No Evil & Hear No Evil by Jordan Ford, Complicated by Melissa Pearl- books I have for review and I’m about half way through The Winners Curse. What about you? 🙂
